Katherine Fleming is President and CEO of the J. Paul Getty Trust and Professor of Hellenic Culture and Civilization in the Department of History and the Onassis Program in Hellenic Studies. His reign was primarily concerned with the emergence of the modern Greek state in the 18th and 19th centuries and the particular role played by changing attitudes towards religious affiliation. He is currently co-PI in a major oral history project in Greece, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Fleming was Associate Director of FAS and then Director of the Remarque Institute, Director of the Center for Mediterranean and European Studies and Director of the Onassis Program for Hellenic Studies.
