The founding and evolution of the Christian University "Dimitrie Cantemir" is one of the most telling proofs of the efficiency of private initiative, even in a conservative field such as university education.

In its 31 years of existence, our university has managed to form 8 faculties with 24 bachelor's degree programs and 22 master's degree programs, in traditional centers (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara), currently having over 8,000 students and a highly competent teaching staff, meeting national and European standards of higher education.

The curricula of the study programs, the scientific research and the students' practice have been established based on the traditions of the Romanian school and the modern requirements of European higher education.

The founding, organization and functioning of the Christian University "Dimitrie Cantemir" is based, from the legal point of view, on the provisions of the Constitution, the Law on the accreditation of higher education institutions and recognition of diplomas, the Founding Law no.238 of 23 April 2002 by which the faculties of the Christian University "Dimitrie Cantemir" were accredited, as well as the Law no.480/2006 amending and supplementing the Law no. 1/2011.

Since the academic year 2005-2006, the activity of the university has been organized according to the principles elaborated by the Bologna Convention, the Law no. 288/2004 on the organization of university studies and the H.G. no. 88/2005 on the organization of undergraduate studies, and later, according to the legislation in force by fields.

"Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University enjoys an unquestionable domestic and international prestige, maintaining cooperation relations with major universities in Italy, Holland, Portugal, France, Germany, USA, Japan, Canada, Turkey, Thailand, China, Hungary, Bulgaria and other countries. So far, more than 85 thousand graduates have graduated from our faculties, working in the public or private sector as magistrates, lawyers, prosecutors, jurists, managers, economists, accountants, accountants, teachers, researchers, historians, geographers, philologists, etc.

In the landscape of private universities, the Christian University "Dimitrie Cantemir" is distinguished by the seriousness and high quality of its school and research. Diplomas obtained here have a certain academic value.
The desire for information has become a necessity for members of society from school age, which means that education systems have to adapt quickly in order to be able to meet both the new information requirements and the quality standards required at the current stage of societal development. Educational problems have never been easy to solve, and in the digital age, in which everything is moving fast, education systems have to take account of these peculiarities. Modern means of accessing information resources provide global support for documentation and knowledge enrichment, regardless of the field of activity.

It is not possible to refer to the current problems of the education systems, with emphasis on higher education, without pointing out the requirements of the Bologna Declaration, which aims to achieve good cooperation between all European countries on education policies. The principles of the Bologna Process are: mobility of students and teachers in the single European area, ensuring university autonomy, active participation of students in the governance of the educational process, public responsibility for the quality of higher education and the training of specialists in different fields of activity, in line with the requirements of the current state of development. For these reasons, the authority in each signatory country is free to adopt its own policies in the field of education, but these policies must be in line with common European requirements.

A decisive factor in ensuring the mobility of students and teachers, in the recognition of examinations and professional qualifications, is to raise the quality of education systems to the level required at European level. In the current stage of development of society, marked by the transition to the digital age, ensuring the quality requirements of academic education is particularly important, and in this context the managerial performance can have a positive influence on ensuring the quality of higher education, whether public or private, or on the contrary, it can have a negative influence that could lead to jeopardizing the functioning of the educational institution.

Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University of Bucharest has become competitive thanks to our ability to adapt to all socio-economic needs, as well as to the educational and consulting market. At present we can talk about a real educational system that includes 6 faculties with 9 bachelor's degree programs and 13 master's degree programs operating in the university centers in Bucharest and Cluj Napoca, in educational spaces owned and impeccably equipped for modern education.

In the 34 years since the founding of the university, more than 90,000 people have graduated from "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University. There are several elements that can illustrate this. I would start with the fact that we have hundreds of graduates working in prestigious institutions and companies in the USA, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Holland, China, Hungary, Bulgaria and so on. On the other hand, our students and professors participate in the "ERASMUS+" mobility program at universities in Italy, Lithuania, Belgium, Germany.

"Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University is the co-founder of the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) based in Portoroz, Slovenia, dedicated to Master's studies and created exclusively with European Union funds, is a founding member of EURAS (based in Istanbul), an organization that currently groups 89 universities in Europe and Asia.

It is also worth mentioning the membership of EUA, the most powerful Association of European Universities, as well as the bilateral relations with dozens of foreign universities, the most important being the one with the Robert Schumann University in Strasbourg.

The educational offer includes undergraduate, full-time and part-time courses as well as master's degrees.

We are addressing this year's high school graduates, but equally to all those who graduated from high school in previous years to now pursue a college or a second college, given that only 17.6% of the employed population has a higher education.

The President, Professor Momcilo Luburici, and myself, as founders of the "Dimitrie Cantemir" Christian University, wanted from the very beginning to establish a university where, on the one hand, there would be a state of freedom of spirit, of respect, and on the other hand, material conditions that we did not have. I can say that we succeeded.

"The Great Cantemir Family", which now counts 90 thousand graduates, students, master's students, professors, and their close ones - parents, siblings, grandparents, spouses, children - about a million people, is composed of intelligent people, with respect for the values of creation that we promote during our studies and with a special role in repositioning the scale of values in society.
