The Senate of the University, meeting in an extraordinary session, decided, at the proposal of Prof. Dr. Corina Adriana Dumitrescu, President of the Senate, to award the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Prof. Dr. XIAOTIAN ZHANG, Associate Vice President of the University of Shanghai, a prestigious personality in the field of strengthening Euro-Asian cooperation in the international educational sphere.<\/p>\n\n
As a result, on October 2, 2019, the „Dimitrie Cantemir” Christian University, in a solemn session, conferred the high title to Professor Dr. XIAOTIAN ZHANG.<\/p>\n\n
Mrs. Professor Dr. Corina Adriana Dumitrescu opened the festive assembly attended by personalities from the academic and business environment China – Romania, showing that it is a great honor to have as a guest Professor Dr. ZHANG.<\/p>\n\n
Professor Dr. Marija Liisa Tenhunen, Vice President of the UCDC Senate, a professor with a remarkable activity at the University of Shanghai, addressed words of great appreciation to the guest, mentioning the remarkable achievements of her Excellency in the field of internationalization in education.<\/p>\n\n
After the presentation of the Senate Decision, the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Cristiana Cristureanu, presented the Laudatio, showing the prodigious activity of Professor Zhang in several international academies and institutes, the positions of great responsibility he has held in Belarus, Estonia, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Kazakhstan, his entrepreneurial capacity resulting in the founding of several international companies and the Baltic-China Group in Europe, the largest Chinese business community in the Baltic States.<\/p>\n\n
It was also presented the scientific work of Professor Dr. ZHANG, which includes an impressive number of articles, published papers, participations and lectures at high-level scientific events in Europe, Asia and North America. Prof. ZHANG has effectively participated in the realization of more than ten domestic and international projects in his vast international educational and managerial activity, in which he has constantly reiterated the major importance of the role of knowledge.<\/p>\n\n
The President of the Senate informed the university community about the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration with the University of Shanghai, within the framework of a Master Degree program. Prof. ZHANG thanked for the high title and emphasized the importance of international collaboration through education, as young people have a special role to play in creating a better life of harmony and respect in the world.<\/p>\n\n
The academic community of the University has appreciated the personality and involvement of Professor Dr. XIAOTIAN ZHANG on the educational level, awarding him, with respect and joy, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa and congratulating him for his exceptional contribution to supporting the role of internationalization and academic cooperation through knowledge.<\/p>\n\n
