“Dimitrie Cantemir” Christian University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Prof. Dr. Chen Wenshen, President of Communication University of China

The Senate of the University awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Dr. CHEN WENSHEN, President of the Communication University of China, outstanding academic and reputed expert in Digital Media and technology, promoter of the system and high quality standard in academic teaching in this field.
Mrs. Prof. Dr. Corina-Adriana Dumitrescu, President of the Senate of the University, opened the event, pointing out that the partnership between the Christian University “Dimitrie Cantemir” and Communication University of China dates back to 2012, being initiated on the occasion of the first intercultural conference hosted by U.C.C.D.C.
Prof. Prof. Dr. Cristiana Cristureanu, Rector of the University, presented the Laudatio, highlighting the exceptional merits of Prof. Dr. CHEN WENSHEN, holder of a PhD in international politics, professor at Peking University, then representative of the education department of the Consulate General of China in Toronto, later Vice Consul and Consul. Since 2000, he has been active in the field of economic and technological development in the Council of Peking University, later becoming President. He then became Counselor to the Minister of Education at the Chinese Embassy in Canada, and in 2012 he was nominated President of the Council of the Communication University of China (CUC). With numerous positions in China and internationally, with awards for research and for initiating courses and projects at the specialized departments of the University, Professor Dr. CHEN WENSHEN is appreciated as a leading personality in the field of Digital Media Animation, with an exceptional managerial spirit and with a major contribution to the development of international projects of the University of Communication.
The President read the diploma of Doctor Honoris Causa in Latin and handed it to the laureate.
Prof. Dr. CHEN WENSHEN said that he was impressed by the warm welcome offered by the University’s management and emphasized that the event opened a new page in the development of cooperation between the two universities, for new academic exchanges and projects in education and research, within the general framework of the relations between China and Romania. The academic community of the University appreciated the personality, scientific contribution and effective participation of Professor Dr. CHEN WENSHEN and was extremely honored by the presence of His Lordship among the Honorary Doctor Honoris Causa laureates of U.C.”D.C”
